Magnesite is one of the important raw materials for refractories. It is used to manufacture various magnesia bricks, magnesia alumina bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, ramming materials, furnace repairing materials, etc. Those with more impurities are used to pave the bottom of the steelmaking furnace. The calcined magnesite is made from natural magnesite ore and calcined in high temperature shaft kiln, with the magnesium content of 80-93%. The purpose of the calcined magnesia: raw materials for making bricks and producing unshaped refractory materials, and the finished products are used for steelmaking, electric furnace bottom and ramming furnace lining.


The fused magnesia is made by melting selected natural magnesite or high-purity light burned magnesium particles in an electric arc furnace. This product has large crystal grain, compact structure, slag resistant material, good thermal shock stability, and magnesium content of 93-98%. Therefore, the purpose of heavy fused magnesia is: it is an excellent high temperature electrical flange material, and also an important raw material for making high-grade magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks and amorphous refractories.


Medium grade magnesia is produced from light burned magnesia by ball pressing, high-temperature shaft kiln calcination and other processes. The product has good sintering degree, dense crystallization, and the magnesium content is mgo-95%. The use of medium grade magnesia is: it is used to produce magnesium soldering bricks, medium grade magnesia bricks, magnesia castables and other amorphous refractories, and it is a high-quality raw material for magnesia refractory products.


High purity magnesite is produced by flotation purification of natural super grade magnesite through light burning, fine grinding, ball pressing and ultra-high temperature oil shaft kiln calcination. High purity magnesia with magnesium content of 96-97% can be used as ideal raw materials for high-grade magnesia refractories such as magnesia bricks, magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, tundish ramming materials, magnesia castables, etc.
